Last updated: June 16, 2026
ANIMYZ ("we", "our", "us") operates this website and provides the services available through it (the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you visit our site, make a purchase, or otherwise interact with us. It is drafted in accordance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) of Hong Kong ("PDPO").
By using the Services, you agree to the collection and use of your personal data as described in this policy.
1. What personal data we collect
We collect personal data that you provide directly to us, as well as data collected automatically when you use the Services. "Personal data" means any information that relates to an identifiable individual.
Identity & contact details: Name, shipping/billing address, phone number, email address.
Payment information: Credit/debit card numbers, payment account details, transaction records. (Note: full payment card numbers are processed securely by our payment gateway and are not stored by us.)
Account information: Username, password, security questions, preferences, and settings if you create an account.
Transaction history: Items you view, add to cart, purchase, return, exchange, or cancel.
Communications: Messages you send to us (e.g., customer support enquiries, return requests) and our replies.
Device & usage data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, time stamps, and how you interact with our site (e.g., pages visited, links clicked).
We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under the age of 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
2. How we collect your personal data
We collect personal data:
Directly from you when you place an order, create an account, communicate with us, or fill in any form on the site.
Automatically through cookies, log files, and similar technologies when you browse the site.
From service providers who assist us in operating the site (e.g., Shopify, payment processors, shipping partners).
3. Purposes for which we use your personal data
We only use your personal data for the following purposes:
To process and fulfil your orders – including payment processing, shipping, delivery confirmations, and handling returns/exchanges.
To provide customer support – responding to your queries, complaints, and after‑sales service.
To personalise and improve your shopping experience – e.g., remembering your preferences, recommending products you may like.
To communicate with you – sending order‑related updates, account notifications, and (with your consent) marketing messages.
To prevent fraud and ensure security – detecting and preventing fraudulent transactions, unauthorised access, and other illegal activities.
To comply with legal obligations – retaining records as required by Hong Kong tax and commercial law, and responding to lawful requests from government authorities.
We will not use your personal data for any new purpose without first informing you and, where required, obtaining your consent.
4. Direct marketing
We would love to keep you updated about new collections, special offers, and promotions. We will only send you marketing communications if you have given us your explicit consent (opt‑in).
Every marketing email we send will include an unsubscribe link. Once you unsubscribe, we will stop sending marketing emails within a reasonable time.
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes without your express consent.
5. Who we share your personal data with
We may disclose your personal data to the following parties, only to the extent necessary for the purposes outlined above:
Service providers – Shopify (our e‑commerce platform), payment gateways, shipping carriers (e.g., SF Express), email service providers, and IT support. These providers are contractually bound to protect your data and use it only to perform services on our behalf.
Legal and regulatory authorities – when required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights.
Business transferees – in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred to the new owner, subject to the same privacy protections.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any other third parties.
6. Cross‑border data transfers
Our store is hosted on Shopify, which operates servers in multiple countries (including the United States and Canada). This means your personal data may be transferred to, and stored on, servers outside Hong Kong.
We take reasonable steps to ensure that any such transfer does not contravene the PDPO and that your data remains adequately protected wherever it is processed. By using our Services, you consent to these international transfers as described.
7. Data retention
We will retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by applicable Hong Kong law (e.g., tax records must be kept for at least 7 years). When the data is no longer needed, we will securely delete or anonymise it.
8. Data security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or alteration. These include encryption, firewalls, secure payment processing, and restricted access to personal data on a need‑to‑know basis.
However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
9. Your rights under Hong Kong law
Under the PDPO, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
Right of access – You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. A small administrative fee may be charged to cover our costs.
Right of correction – You may ask us to correct any personal data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
Right to withdraw consent for direct marketing – You can opt out of marketing communications at any time.
Please note: Unlike some other jurisdictions, the PDPO does not grant a general "right to erasure" or "right to data portability." We will, however, consider any deletion request where the data is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or if it is inaccurate, and we will comply where feasible under the law.
To exercise any of your rights, please email us at animyzapparel@gmail.com. We may ask you to verify your identity before processing your request. We will respond within the timeframes required by the PDPO (generally 40 days for access requests).
10. Cookies and tracking technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to enhance your browsing experience, analyse site traffic, and serve personalised advertisements. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings. Please note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the site.
11. Third‑party links
Our site may contain links to other websites (e.g., social media platforms). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to read their privacy policies when you leave our site.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be posted on this page with the "Last updated" date. If the changes are material, we will notify you by email or through a prominent notice on the site before the changes take effect.
